Parents have been implored to allow their children to participate in school educational tours, Mathiba Primary School head, Mr Noah Kebafitlhetse has said.
When informing parents about the school’s impending educational tour recently, Mr Kebafitlhetse said the tour would help learners understand what they were taught in class.
He said educational tours enabled learners to acquire more awareness and knowledge.
“I am urging you to take educational tours very seriously because through them, we can encourage our learners to actively study and pass their examinations,” he said.
He explained that learners from Standard Four to Seven will next term, embark on an educational tour to Lobatse and Gaborone, among other places.Mr Kebafitlhetse said contrary to some parents’ belief that the tour was a leisure trip, it was an essential learning process, which was recommended in the syllabus.
He further explained that the tours were an interesting way of exploring new things for the learners, thus helping them understand concepts through live examples.
He told parents that they were being informed in advance for them to collaborate with the teachers to prepare for the tour. ENDS
