14 Mar 2019
Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Thato Kwerepe says the lack of classrooms and staff housing are a national challenge in many schools.
Mr Kwerepe said his ministry had engaged the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to map their needs nationally.
He also said they had prioritised the need and would make submissions under the review of NDP 11 to increase spending in that area.
He admitted that there was shortage of four classrooms and 11 staff houses at Madawu Junior Secondary School in Nswazwi, adding that the needs of Madawu JSS would be considered alongside others.
Member of Parliament for Nkange, Mr Edwin Batshu had asked the minister if he was aware of the critical shortage of staff houses and classrooms at Madawu JSS in Nswazwi in the Nkange constituency.
MP Batshu also wanted to know what the ministry intended to do to alleviate the situation. ENDS
