Anglican ordains Leteemane as archdeacon of north

13 Mar 2019

Reverend Moreri Leteemane of the Anglican Church of Botswana is Archdeacon of the northern part of Botswana with Francistown as his headquarters.

Archdeacon Leteemane was inducted by Bishop Metlhayothe Beleme recently.

In his declaration, Archdeacon Leteemane vowed to agree to the declaration of fundamental principles of the province of Central Africa, and further declared that he consented to be bound by all the canons of the Province of Central Africa, and by the laws, which had been made, or which may from time to time be made, by the Diocesan Synod of the Diocese of Botswana and by the Provincial synod of the province of Central Africa.

In his acceptance speech after taking the oath, Archdeacon Leteemane appealed to the congregation to offer him prayers, saying without their support, he would not be able to perform his duties to the fullest.

He assured the congregants that he would take up where his predecessors left off, so that the church can grow into a big biblical institution.

Bishop Beleme said they were authorising Archdeacon Leteemane to preach the word of God and administer the holy sacraments and further perform all other ecclesiastical duties.

He told the congregation that church leaders were transferable hence the transfer of Reverend Leteemane to Francistown to become Archdeacon of the North.

He said Archdeacon Leteemane served in various places in Botswana such as Molepolole, Mmadinare and  Serowe.

He appealed to the branches in the north to support Archdeacon Leteemane so that he could do his work without fail, saying the leader will be working with church wardens who would be his advisors. ENDS
