ISPAAD programme under review

Parliament has learnt that the Integrated Support Programme for Arable Agriculture Development (ISPAAD) was currently under review to inform the ministry whether the prices for ploughing should be increased and by how much.
Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Mr Kostantinos Markus said the review would also look into other areas of the programme that needed adjustment to accommodate the ever changing demands of the arable sub-sector.
Mr Markus said the prices for ISPAAD were last reviewed in 2013.
MP for Nkange, Mr Edwin Batshu had asked when the prices for ploughing under ISPAAD were last reviewed and whether he would consider adjusting the prices upwards considering the increased fuel prices. ENDS
