 Desert Predators in collaboration with different social clubs in and around Tsabong donated toiletries to Tsabong Primary Hospital and conducted a clean-up campaign recently.  

The clubs, Desert Predators, Babatona, Badirammogo and Ditau donated toiletries worth P2 000.

Desert Predators chairperson. Motshereganyi  Diseko said the donation was part of their cooperate social initiative in which they lend a helping hand to those in need as well as ensure residents live in a clean environment.

Even though the club was still at its infancy stage as it was established in 2017, he said it had grown massively due to their constant engagement with other social clubs  such as Babatona.

He said as a club, they had aligned their mandate to one of Vision 2036 pillars. Diseko stressed that as a club they wanted to help where possible and cautioned people who join social clubs for wrong reasons stressing that ‘we are a charitable organisation and the only satisfaction we receive is a warm smile from the lives of those we touch’.

“It is because of this that I urge those willing to join any  social club to be generous, courteous and compassionate about helping others and exercise good neighborliness to ensure a prosperous Botswana for all,” he said. 

Diseko encouraged other people to join social clubs as they offer an ideal platform where members keep their health in check by exercise in a friendly set-up as well as extend a helping hand to the least fortunate among society. 

Upon receiving the donation, hospital representative, Goabaone Seiphephi expressed gratitude to the donors for the gesture noting that such gestures had been helpful  in recent times as they had helped the hospital ease of servicing the public especially since the hospital experienced shortcomings in most departments.

She said the donation would go a long way in helping new and expectant mothers by ensuring they had the basics needed when giving birth. She urged all the clubs to continue helping and also encouraged others to emulate acts of giving hope to those who cannot help themselves as this was the true spirit of Botho and unity Batswana were known for.
