Mochudi Rovers stun Jwaneng Fighters

After countless draws in their previous league games, Mochudi Rovers are back to winning ways as they demolished Jwaneng Fighters 2-0 in the Debswana First Division South league game in Mochudi on March 9.
The visitors looked more dangerous with countless attacks especially from the left flank where Benjamin Maute was operating for Fighters in the opening minutes.
However, things changed in the 13th minute when the hosts took the lead through Lucky Molefe’s rebound shot from Fredy Seleke’s initial shot, which was parried into Molefe’s direction by Fighters’ goal minder, Kabelo Tshamekang.
In the action packed first half, Fighters conceded a lot of fouls, which saw Kabo Majuta and Thuso Marman cautioned by the referee.
The home side increased their lead just before half-time in the 44th minute through Seleke.
After the half-time break, Fighters nearly pulled one goal back after their forward Lapologang Motlog’s rocket shot was fisted over the bar by Rovers’ goalkeeper.
The game went on without either team threatening as the score remained 2-0 in favour of Rovers.
The home side’s victory saw them moving up to sixth on the log with 23 points while Fighters relinquished top spot to occupy second spot with 27 points.
After the game, Fighters coach Andrew Tlou said the players were too comfortable and took Rovers lightly as they beat them before in the first round of the league by the same score line that they suffered.
He said he had warned the players against complacency following their win against Gilport Lions in the last game.
For his part, Rovers coach Patrick Molefe said they played well with passion and aggression even though they could have scored more goals. ENDS
