Black Peril beat Black Rangers

Tsabong Black Rangers saw dust as Tlokweng Black Peril beat them 1-0 on home ground in the second round of Debswana First Division South League on March 9.

Both teams displayed equal strength across the field failing to convert their chances in the first half of the game.

However, on the 17th minute of the second half, Black Peril striker, Ronald Rapulane shocked the host as he scored to redeem Black Peril, which has never beaten Black Rangers at any point in the first division league games.

“We have never beaten this team at any given day. The whole of last week we worked hard to prepare for this game and we are happy for the three points,” said winning coach, Phele Setswe in an interview after the game.

Coach Setswe was pleased with the historic results despite having missed many chances during the first half of the game.

“We prepared hard for this game and I am glad the results are showing,” he said adding that their win automatically gave them 22 points and the win would boost their morale when they face Tlokweng Rovers in their next game.

He said they would go back to the drawing board and rectify some of the mistakes, which they made during the game with Rangers.

Coach Etsile Polelo said it was their first loss to Black Peril.

“We have lost to a team that has never beaten us despite intense preparations for this game. Our game play was fine but we failed to convert our chances. Our opponents were trying to knock the ball and we could press them to deny them the chance to score,” he said.

He said they would do everything possible to win their next game.

“We have gathered 17 points now and next week we are going to play Tlokweng Red Sparks as home away game. So will prepare to increase our points,” he said. ENDS
