Mahalapye Tribal Administration Authority recently received a donation of a computer, printer and 25 chairs from Botswana Prisons Service.
Speaking at the handover at Mahalapye main kgotla, commissioner of prisons and rehabilitation, Mr Silas Motlalekgosi said the gesture was made possible by donations from prisons senior officers who had gathered in Mahalapye for a strategic workshop.
Mr Motlalekgosi said they saw it fit to engage in an activity that would improve service delivery, hence they raised P7 400 for the donation.
He expressed appreciation to the senior officers for their cooperation and commitment towards the set course and making it a success.
Moreover, commissioner Motlalekgosi said they were compelled by love and the spirit of compassion towards one another.
Tribal secretary, Ms Lebogang Mashadi commended the prisons officers for the noble gesture, saying it was timely as it would hasten service delivery in the department.
On the other hand, Kgosi Duncan Segotsi acknowledged and commended the relationship between the two departments.
He said the gesture was a demonstration of love, which would effectively change the work environment.
Despite being the oldest department, Kgosi Segotsi said tribal authorities were still hampered by shortage of resources. ENDS
