05 Mar 2019

Public servants have been urged to go all out to ensure that the country realise its dreams.

Speaking at the recent Good Hope Sub-district awards ceremony, Southern District Council chairperson, Mr Alec Seametso, said government employees should be self-driven and also appreciate that the President had their interests at heart.

“He needs you to support his roadmap, therefore work hard and make a difference in development of the country,” he said.

Mr Seametso  reminded award recepients that the awards represented the team they worked with.

He urged public servants to be proud of their job and know that they were economic transformation drivers.

Senior council secretary, Mr Robert Rabasimane, said they were celebrating leaders who had shown commitment in their work.

He applauded recipients and commended their problem solving qualities as well as effective character towards their day to day activities.

He said despite workplace related challenges, employees continued to triumph and never let complaints to overpower their duties.

Gaborone University College of Law and Professional Studies managing director, Dr Anthony Joseph, encouraged recepients  to enrol with the college for skills development.

To motivate the recipients, he offered 15 overall performers a week short course valued at P2 500.

He said GUC would pledge P1 800 per person and the department would only pay P700.

SACS award was scooped by Mr Mpho Montshioa and Mr Kagiso Golebanye scooped best performer in the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration. Ends
