Review of Marriage Act ongoing

Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Mr Ngaka Ngaka, says his ministry has submitted instructions to the Attorney General for drafting of a bill to review the Marriage Act to include amongst other things registration of Customary and Religious Marriages under the Registrar of Societies.
Member of Parliament for Nkange, Mr Edwin Batshu had asked the minister to state progress made in reviewing the Marriage Act to ensure that customary and religious marriages were registered with the Registrar of Societies. ENDS
