The Gambling Authority is developing a horse racing strategy to assist in facilitation of the equine industry.
According to Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Moiseraele Goya, who was answering a question in Parliament last Thursday, the authority would license betting activities as per provisions of the Gambling Act.
Mr Goya said other bodies would be charged with the responsibility of developing the race courses.
MP for Selebi Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked if there were plans by the authority to license a horse betting facility in the near future and whether there was infrastructural capacity for such an endeavour in the next five years. ENDS
