Citizen owned company wins tender
28 Feb 2019
Parliament has been informed that the tender to undertake the re-alignment of Gambling Authority was awarded to a citizen-owned company.
Answering a question in Parliament, the Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Moiseraela Goya said the Gambling Authority had placed an advertisement on local newspaper in July and August 2017 and only eight companies had responded to the tender.
He said there were no plans to change the scope of the project to restructure and the Authority would be guided by the outcome of the report. Member of Parliament for Selibe-Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister whether there had been an advertisement calling for companies to bid for the re-alignment of the Gambling Authority structure.
He also wanted to know if there were plans to change the scope of the project to restructure and the number of jobs targeted for scrapping off. ENDS
