Ambassador hails team

The Japanese Ambassador to Botswana, Kozo Takeda has expressed gratitude to the Chukyo University softball team for their eagerness to impart softball skills to Batswana players. Speaking at a reception he hosted for the visiting team, Takeda said the players were dedicated to softball and were committed to share their skills and passion with Batswana players.
He said the second Chukyo University softball team’s visit was meant to improve softball skills in Botswana.
He said the team visited Good Hope, Masunga and Maun senior secondary schools for three weeks, where they taught tactics and strategies of the match through short games with coaches and judges during training. The Ambassador said he hoped that the training would assist the country in the next Africa qualifying games for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
For his part, Botswana Softball Association president, Thabo Thamane applauded the Japanese for their assistance in both academics and sport.
He assured the ambassador that Botswana would be in Japan for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. ENDS
