The Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has commended the private sector for their role in supporting education.

   Mr Tsogwane said on February 25 during the donation of school uniform to Moremaoto Primary School pupils by Mr Love Majoka of Majoka Hardware and Councilor Andy Boatile.

He said they should be commended for playing a crucial role in upgrading schools through the adopt-a-school programme. The donation included shirts, skirts, trousers, ties and shoes.

Education, he said, empowered the community with skills and knowledge for a better future.

The Vice President noted that education was a useful tool in fighting poverty and in upgrading  technology standards.

The school’s  teachers were commended for their commitment towards consistently producing good results.

Though located in a remote area and without adequate resources, Mr Tsogwane said the school performed well.

He said provision of facilities such as libraries were motivating and encouraged pupils to commit to their studies and conduct more research.

The Vice President said the Boteti community was humbled by the gesture which demonstrated the spirit of compassion, love and care for children and would also motivate teachers to work hard in elevating the school performance.

He appealed for the private sector’s continued support towards education.

For his part, Mr Majoka said the intention was to reach out to children in remote areas and motivate them to commit to their studies adding that teachers too, would be encouraged to keep the standards while Mr Boatile pledged support to ensure all had uniform.

The school head, Ms Agnes Letang expressed appreciation for the donation saying it would make a huge difference in their lives. 

She however decried inadequate accommodation for teachers and requested a photocopying machine for the school.

The school performance rate was 85 per cent in 2016, 72 in 2017 and 89.5 last year. ends
