Botswana-Zimbabwe commission on

President Mokgweetsi Masisi is scheduled to leave February 27 for Harare, Zimbabwe to attend the inaugural session of Botswana and Zimbabwe Bi-National Commission.
According to a press release from the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation, the commission is a high level platform that replaced the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation and the Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security between the two countries, through an agreement signed on the margins of the 38th SADC summit held in Namibia last year.
The session is expected to exchange views on bilateral and international issues of mutual interest and further discuss the state of bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, agriculture, tourism, energy as well as defence and security, says the release. It further says the heads of state meeting was preceded by those of officials and ministers held Monday and yesterday respectively.
Dr Masisi will be accompanied by ministers Dr Unity Dow - International Affairs and Cooperation, Mr Shaw Kgathi - Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Patrick Ralotsia - Agricultural Development and Food Security, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila - Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services, Ms Bogolo Kenewendo - Investment, Trade and Industry and Mr Eric Molale - Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security as well as other senior government officials.
The President and his entourage are expected to retun home tomorrow. ends
