Ministry aware of nurses union concern

Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Alfred Madigele says his ministry is aware of the concern raised by Botswana Nurses Union (BONU) regarding the restructuring in his ministry.
Responding to a parliamentary question, Dr Madigele said the issue was discussed during their consultative meetings with BONU and on a tripartite meeting with DPSM, where they acknowledged the need to further engage on the matter.
He noted that arrangements were being made to engage on the matter in their next quarterly consultative forum with the union in March.
Francistown East MP, Mr Buti Billy had wanted to know if the minister was aware that BONU was not consulted when the ministry carried out a restructuring exercise between 2017 and 2018 and if so, when his ministry would consult BONU. ENDS
