11 Choppies customers win big

Choppies has been hailed for giving back to the community after 11 of its customers won a vehicle each while 40 others received cash prizes of P25 000 each.

Speaking at the Choppies great birthday bonanza ceremony in Gaborone on February 22,  the Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane, said Choppies was making a difference in the lives of many people.

He also commended the group for supporting the Presidential Housing Appeal saying the gesture was in accordance with Vision 2036.

The vice president expressed appreciation for promotion of Botswana as an ideal destination for foreign and domestic investment, saying the Botswana One Stop Service Centre (BOSSC) had made doing business in the country easy.

Through BOSSC, he said, it was envisaged that inconveniences and impediments to investors would be minimised.

He said strengthening and helping the private sector to do business in Botswana could create jobs for many Batswana.

In his welcoming remarks, Choppies Distribution Centre chief executive officer, Mr Ramachandran Ottapath said the promotion was a token of appreciation to customers.

“This is a way of saying thank you to them since we value their contribution to the company and its growth,” he said.

Mr Ottapath stated that the supermarket chain was participating in the Presidential Housing Appeal saying they contributed 130 houses for the needy.

He further said Choppies was in the process of developing other initiatives with schools which would include making donations of machinery.

The company did not bar employees from participating in the competition which saw Mr Thuso Moesi of Palapye Choppies winning one of the vehicles.

In an interview, Mr Moesi expressed gratitude to the company for conducting the promotions. ends
