German expert aids Botswana football

Germany’s Caolin Braun, a UEFA licence holder will be here for two years to aid Botswana Football Association (BFA) with the training of local coaches.

Braun, who has a PhD in sport science, is an internationally recognised coach educator and instructor. Addressing a press conference this week in Gaborone, BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo said Braun was a coach at a German talent promotion programme for under 11 and 14 boys.

She is also the technical chair and coach of the German female student national team. During her stay in Botswana, Braun will work with BFA technical director, and will assist with the creation of coach education.

 She will also create and implement a programme to improve football structures at regional and national level, with special focus on children and youth football for both boys and girls.

“Her mandate will be to make sure that coach education and talent identification is of paramount importance,” he said. ENDS
