Infant formula in low supply
21 Feb 2019
Ministry of Health and Wellness is experiencing an acute shortage of infant formula due to inadequate supply of the commodity from the contracted supplier.
According to a press release form the ministry, the infant formula is supplied to HIV exposed infants from birth until 12 months of age.
The milk is collected on monthly basis from all government health facilities.
The press release further states that although not adequate, the ministry continues to receive the formula in small quantities from the supplier.
The ministry is working round the clock to ensure the supply improves. ENDS
