Gambling Authority personel has undertaken 24 external trips

The Gambling Authority staff had undertaken 24 external trips from April 2016 to date, Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Moiseraele Goya has said.
He said the destination for the aforementioned trips were South Africa, Mauritius, Malawi, Ghana, France, South Korea, Denmark, Argentina, Malta, USA, Australia and the UK, with the total per diem paid for 146 days.
Mr Goya noted that there were some trips that the chief executive officer was not part of, and that such trips were five and were training trips for staff.
Mr Goya said the trips included responsible gambling meeting, human resources management training, training on licensing, compliance and monitoring, Gambling Indaba Conference and training on corporate governance.
MP for Selebi Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state the number of external trips undertaken by the Gambling Authority staff from April 2016 to date.
Mr Keorapetse also wanted to know the destinations for the aforementioned external trips, and the total number of days for which per diem was paid.
He further wanted to know whether there had been any trips outside the country from April 2016 that the CEO was not part of, the number, and the importance of such trips. ENDS
