Marketing and communications manager at BotswanaPost, Ms Lebogang Molosi, has requested Batswana to utilise newly launched mobile wallet dubbed Poso Money.
Speaking in an interview, Ms Molosi said Poso Money with a tag line Any Place, Any Network, was new mobile wallet that was inter-operable on smart-phone.
It was launched in Sehithwa in October during the World Post Day last year.
She said the mobile phone wallet could send and receive money as well as buy electricity and pay other bills through a phone.
She said everyone was welcome to use it, whether working or not.
“It works through a SIM-skin which is put on top of a SIM-card and the service can only be accessed at all BotswanaPost offices around the country. The withdrawal charges range from P5 to P80 while deposits range from P25 to P4000,” she said.
Ms Molosi said the SIM card could only be collected and registered for free at any post office, adding that Poso Money was convenient because it had many services to perform varying transactions from cell phones without having to travel to the shops and can also be used as a savings account.
Ms Molosi said with the positive feedback from Batswana, she was optimistic that more people would be familiar with it.
She said BotswanaPost would continue to provide Batswana with quality products and services which were affordable and essential to their lives.
She said should customers encounter problems with the service, they should contact the post offices.
One of the customers Ms Tebogo Seeso, said the services that came with Poso Money such as payments of bills were helpful.
She testified that it was trustworthy with low withdrawal charges.
For his part, Kgosi Sello Pule of Gabane, applauded BotswanaPost for coming with such services, saying it would benefit people who stayed in rural areas far away from shops saving on high transport fees.
He urged residents of Gabane to take advantage of the services to avoid long queuing at the shops more and use a cell phone to perform such transactions. ENDS
