Mndzebele Wedding planner of note

13 Feb 2019

Ms Tshepiso Mndzebele has turned her wedding day disappointment into a business endeavour.

She did not have a tent nor decor on her wedding day although she paid for the service. Her wedding turned out to be the saddest day of her life.

It was on that day that she vowed to never allow anyone go through what she experienced. She then decided to help upcoming brides plan their weddings and ensure that the service providers she engaged were trustworthy and could do a superb job.

In the days leading to the formation of her business, Ms Mndzebele decided to have a Facebook page, Wedding Speak Out, as a voice for all aggrieved and disappointed couples.

“Even though there was a voice for all couples, there was something missing, hence I decided to have a wedding planning service,” she said.

She started her business in early 2015 as a charity initiative done under Weddings Speakout group on Facebook.  Ms Mndzebele  then realised that she used most of her time and resources, hence she started charging her services.

However, the business was slow as Batswana were not used to having wedding planners, but being married in South Africa has proved to be a blessings as that is where her major clientele comes from.

Mrs Mndzebele has managed to register her company called Helper: The Wedding Planner.

She has also launched a payment plan that is affordable for people who wish to get married in the future.

Her major marketing tool is her Facebook page, which is also her greatest achievement ever.

Besides planning weddings, she also designs, makes dresses and suits for her clients and anyone who wants an attire.

“To be honest, I am proud of all the weddings I have done. It takes trust, patience and courage to work with strangers and strive to make sure that their wedding becomes what they dreamed of,” she explained.

The Kanye-born woman has an honours degree in human resources management, Bachelor’s degree in human resources management and industrial psychology.

She has also done dressmaking and is in the process of registering for a course in wedding planning.

“I have not employed anyone as the business is not doing well, business comes when it comes, so I engage service providers when I have weddings,” she said. Ends
