12 teachers to get scarce skill allowance
08 Aug 2013
Parliament has been told that the number of teachers who have been approved to receive scarce skill allowance in Montsamaisa and Goldmine Junior Secondary Schools was nine and three respectively.
Answering a question in Parliament on Wednesday, August 7, Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Patrick Masimolole said the approval of scarce skill allowance for those teachers was made on May 17, this year.
Mr Masimolole however noted that none of those teachers had been paid the scarce skill allowance so far while their payments had been processed and ten of them were expected to be paid their allowance at the end of August.
He also noted that the remaining two teachers were anticipated to be paid by the end of September.
Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister to state the number of teachers at Montsamaisa and Goldmine Junior Schools who had been approved to receive scarce skill allowance and when the approval was made.
The minister had also to state the number of teachers who have received the allowance so far and those that have not been paid to date, and when the outstanding payments will be made. END
