Primary schools sporting facilities are not turf covered, hence there are no plans to recycle and reticulate water for irrigation. Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso told Parliament on Monday that there were no dilapidated sporting facilities in primary schools, explaining that such facilities were for soccer and netball activities. “The sports grounds surfaces are natural earth in nature. As such, the surface preparation is generally by grading,” she said, adding that primary school grounds were graded from January 3 to 28, while the other schedule would be drawn for 2019/2020 before April. The House was also informed that ‘Francistown City Council attends to any maintenance request when the need arises.’ Francistown East legislators, Mr Buti Billy had asked the minister if she was aware that sporting facilities in primary schools were dilapidated and if so, she should state what measures in place to fix the problem. MP Billy had also wanted the minister to explain why the ministry could not reticulate recycled ENDS
