Gapane Estate donates to school

Gapane Estate on February 8 donated 350 stainless steel bowels worth P3 200 to Ketlogetswe Memorial Primary School in Kanye.
The school head, Mr Oscar Leatso, said the donation will go a long way in ensuring that the school produces well rounded pupils.
He hailed the company for addressing the school’s needs.
Gapane Estate, a company owned by Komanyane family, adopted the school in 2017.
He thanked the company for heeding the government plea for stakeholders to partner with schools and support learning
In 2017, the company donated 25 pairs of shoes and oranges to underprivileged pupils.
Mr Leatso called on other stakeholders to follow suit and play a role in education by supporting schools by volunteering to teach and impart knowledge and skills, coaching, donating uniform, machinery and utensils, among others.
Gapane Estate manager, Ms Lorato Komanyane explained that they were motivated by love and zeal to appreciate the role teachers played in moulding and producing top notch pupils.
Ms Komanyane commended teachers for playing an active role in producing leaders.
She advised the pupils to trust in God and respect parents to excel in their studies and have a promising future.
Gapane Estate also promised to organise a luncheon for teachers on March 23.
Kanye Sub-region principal education officer, Mr Kopano Malaicha, said the donation was motivated by love, parenthood and appreciation for the teachers.
He said due to the gesture, the school was able to perform above average in its results as in 2016, it recorded 65 per cent in the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE), 85 per cent in 2017 and 75 in 2018.
In order to produce excellent results, he said, there was need for collaboration between parents, teachers and community. ENDS
