Mochudi Centre Chiefs defeated Prisons XI 3-2 in a BTC Premiership match played under the beaming lights of Molepolole Sports Complex on February 2.
Magosi took an early lead through ‘Parka’ Mampori from the penalty spot in the 27th minute.
Pushing for an equaliser Mokouye Shakambayo forced Kgosi Pule to brilliantly save twice from a far placed set piece and rebound.
As the game progressed, the Warders were patiently building from the back going forward, however, Chiefs remained composed and organised at the back, denying the visiting side any breakthrough despite the good build up from the back.
On a counter attack, Mandaza’s header failed to connect with Molefhe’s cross.
From the same ball, Prisons defender Kebatshabile Monthe’s clearance fell on the educated right foot of Morris Ruzivo aka ‘Defaulter’ giving Maapara Nkwe a double lead after smashing a breathtaking thunderbolt from centre half that left Ontiretse Gaotlhobogwe dangling on air.
In the last minute before recess, the Warders received another punishment for their defensive error between their goal stopper Ontiretse Gaotlhobogwe and Olebogeng Ranko’s misunderstanding on an easy defensive task.
Bakang Leshona only had to pass to the net giving the Kgatleng giants a three goals lead into half-time.
In the start of the second half, Ruzivo broke away on the left side but he found Gaotlhobogwe well prepared, parrying Ruzivo tight angle shot outside for a corner.
In efforts to find something to get his team back into the game, Percy More took a shot from close range but the shot flew over the bar.
Looking for a redemption goal, coach Molatlhegi refreshed his attacking arsenal by introducing striker Tswarelo Mojanaga for Tabona Ntlogelang.
In the 77th minute Prisons almost pulled one back from Tshepiso Matshuba’s well-struck long-range shot, but Siamesang Kgosipule denied him.
Chiefs coach, Tumie Duicker pulled out Molefhe bringing in Mandla Mgadla.
Mgadla almost hit the net from Elvis Meleka’s through ball but the shot went wide off the post.
Super sub, Oarabile Powe pulled one back for Prisons after Kgosipule failed to handle an easy cross.
After the goal, Kitso Mpuang headed in a cross from Mpho Monyena’s half volley pulling two back for Prisons.
In the dying minutes of the match, there were attacks from one end to another, however, it was not enough for neither side to score.
In the last minute of the five additional minutes, Waders failed to level matters from a dangerous free kick by Watunwa Muniazo. ENDS
