Act defines tribal territories

The Tribal Territories Act Cap 32:03 is an act of Parliament serving the purpose of defining tribal territories, Minister of Lands and Housing, Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake has told Parliament.
He said the act signified the history upon which contemporary Botswana was built and that it was still relevant for as a long as dikgosi and their tribes were relevant in present day Botswana. The act was saved during the re-enactment of Bogosi Act in 2008, he added.
The minister was responding to a question from MP for Lobatse, Mr Nehemiah Modubule, who had asked the minister what purpose the Tribal Territories Act Cap 32:03 served in present day Botswana.
