Government has extended the ploughing period in the southern parts of the country from February 1-7.
A news release from the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security states that farmers who use technologies such as row planting and harrowing will continue to benefit according to Integrated Support Programme for Arable Agriculture Development guidelines.
Meanwhile, farmers have been encouraged to plough and plant only when there is adequate moisture which can sustain crops for at least two weeks before the next rain. ENDS
