Setlalekgosi Epitome of Gods love
01 Feb 2019
Bishop Boniface Setlalekgosi (91) of the Roman Catholic Church was laid to rest in Gaborone today.
Speakers at the funeral described him as a humble, compassionate, loving and kind servant of God.
Speaking on behalf of the family, his sister Ms Magdeline Gabatshwane, said Bishop Setlalekgosi’s kindness was evident from his childhood. She said her compassionate brother got on well with everyone.
Ms Gabatshwane said although they differed in personalities as siblings, her brother always guided them with wisdom.
She further indicated that Bishop Setlalekgosi displayed his interest in the Lord when growing up. She said he was a staunch reader and most importantly he loved reading the Bible; something she said he took after their mother.
In his sermon, Archbishop Buti Tlhagale of Diocese of Johannesburg said Bishop Setlalekgosi was an admirable, elegant and presentable man. Archbishop Tlhagale said the Bishop always represented the church well.
As the longest serving bishop, Archbishop Tlhagale noted that Bishop Setlalekgosi had an engaging personality and a depth of character, adding that he was a good judge of character.
His guidance and wisdom did not end with family only. Sister Angela, representing Women Religious, described him as a kind and sacrificing human being who was easy to approach.
She said the accommodative Bishop Setlalekgosi was always ready to attend to their concerns. ENDS
