Annual youth awards billed for April

Remmogo Foundation, in partnership with Botswana National Youth Council (BNYC), will hold the fourth Botswana Youth Awards (BYA 19) in Gaborone in April 28.
The event organiser, also Remmogo executive director, Mr Kagiso Morebodi, announced the date when addressing a press briefing in Gaborone on January 23.
Applications for the awards will officially open January 25 until March 2.They would be conducted through youth offices across 37 districts and sub-districts.
Mr Morebodi said both manual and online application forms would be available.
He noted that applicants must have been engaged in the development work they would be contesting for in the last 12 months in a voluntary or professional capacity.
He said they were pleased to be hosting the youth awards aimed at celebrating all the unsung young heroes and heroines in the country.
He said the youth awards demonstrated to leaders and other policy makers the importance of young people’s role in sustaining positive change.
“By investing and developing the youth, we are contributing to economic diversification a long term solution to Botswana’s socio-economic woes,” said Mr Morebodi.
The award ceremony targeted young people aged 18-35 years, who have shown remarkable talent in various disciplines and whose exceptional work transformed their lives and that of their communities positively. Ends
