The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Peter Siele has told Parliament that there are 73 civil and one criminal cases that are pending as a result of suspension of Bakgatla deputy paramount chief in July 2011.
He said his ministry was in the process of finding modalities and practical solutions of disposing pending cases. Mr Siele was responding to a question from the Member of Parliament for Kgatleng West, Mr Gilbert Mangole who had asked the minister to state the number of cases (by category) that were to be dealt with by the office of the deputy kgosikgolo that were pending as a result of the suspension of the incumbent; and if there were any, how the minister intended to dispose them.
