Seven die in road accident

Seven people died and 11 others sustained injuries when a Toyota Hilux smashed into a tree along the Martins Drift road at around 3am on January 17.
Speaking in an interview, Martins Drift police station’s Constable Nyalalani Kenosi, said preliminary investigations revealed that the driver could have fell asleep while driving. The vehicle was on transit from Zimbabwe to South Africa.
The Toyota Hilux, which had 18 Zimbabweans as passengers veered off the road and hit the tree, Constable Kenosi said
Of the seven who perished, he said five were men, whilst two were women. ENDS
