Rollers Notwane to lock horns

16 Jan 2019

The BTC Premiership continues this weekend with a mouthwatering encounter between Township Rollers and Notwane.

The Gaborone derby is set to be played under flood lights in Molepolole January 18.

The game is expected to keep supporters on their toes because both teams never show respect for each other when in the field of play.

Notwane, alias Sechaba, have been doing well since their promotion to the elite league this season though they suffered a loss to Security Systems last  weekend.

However, Notwane would have a chance to redeem their honour when they meet Mapalastina.

Township Rollers were shocked when they dropped three points to Jwaneng Galaxy last weekend.

Rollers supporters displayed unhappiness with the selection of players, with experienced defender, Tshepo ‘Talk Talk’ Motlhabankwe benched.

It is for tgese reasons that the Friday game means a lot to the side which vowed to win everything on offer.

A victory against Notwane would not only redeem their pride, but extend the lead at the top of the log.

Any hiccup might result with Galaxy and Orapa United, who are all tied with 32 points at the top, closing the gap.

Rollers would bank on the top scorer, Joel Mogorosi, Lemponye Tshireletso, Segolame Boy and Edwin Moalosi to do the job for them.

As for Sechaba, aka Toronto, a finish in the Top 8 remainmed possible.

The team sits in position 11, just three points away from the Top 8 bracket.

Following the departure of Pio Paul last year, Mlungisi Kopi was roped in and will be relying on the tried and tested Topo Piet, Sithembile Amos Godirwang, Lesego Lubinda and Richard Legwaila to get them the much needed three points.

In other BTC Premiership fixtures, on Saturday, Black Forest play against Miscellaneous in Lobatse at 3:45 pm.

Still on Saturday, Police XI would host Gaborone United in Otse, Sharps Shooting Stars versus Jwaneng Galaxy at UB Stadium while Security Systems would face Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Molepolole.

Sankoyo Bush Bucks would be home to Orapa United. All games start at 4pm.

On Sunday, Prisons XI would play against BDF XI in Molepolole while BR Highlanders would play against Extension Gunners in Serowe. The games start at 3:45 pm and 4pm respectively. ENDS
