The Chosen Team donates food hampers to needy
15 Jan 2019
The Chosen Team organisation donated food and toiletries to Mr Johnny Phiri in Sikwane on January 12.
Mochudi East Member of Parliament Mr Moagi Molebatsi appreciated the donation and said it would be helpful to Mr Phiri and his family.
He applauded the Chosen Team for the gesture because it could bring positive change towards the lives of the less privileged in the community.
Mr Molebatsi encouraged the organisation to keep on giving back to the community as they helped to eradicate poverty and to bring smiles to many faces.
The Chosen Team chairperson, Mr Edison Masobe said the organisation was formed in 2014 by friends from different churches in Mochudi.
“We decided to form an organisation that would give back to the community and make a difference by putting a smile on people that we assist,” he explained.
Furthermore, Mr Masobe said they donated to two individuals yearly and had already reached out to many individuals and families through giving.
Mr Masobe challenged other organisations to extend a helping hand in the community and challenged leaders to spearhead growth in organisations by working closely with them to support community projects.
Nevertheless, Mr Masobe expressed concern over the collapse of Non-governmental organizations due to various reasons such as lack of funds, lack of communication between members and other life commitment.
Mr Masobe said NGOs were formed to help the less privileged in the community and should always remember their core existence.
He encouraged other NGOs to work together and unite in order to reach out to the community and give hope to the less privileged.
For his part, Mr Phiri thanked The Chosen Team for the donation, saying it showed that the organisation was commitment in assisting the needy. ENDS
