AHCC holds prayers for country

03 Jan 2019

Selebi Phikwe-based Apostolic Healing Convention Centre (AHCC) recently held an event to celebrate its 15 years of existence and to pray for Selebi Phikwe, Botswana and the country’s leadership.

The event, which was held under the theme: Advancing kingdom exploits in the next decade, was held at Lebogang Junior Secondary School.

Giving the keynote address, general overseer of the church, Bishop Tshepo Koobotse called on Batswana and churches around the country to pray for divine intervention in Selebi Phikwe and Botswana general.

Bishop Koobotse said they should also ask God to protect and guide the leadership of the country as well as to give them wisdom to lead the country in 2019 and beyond.  For his part, Professor Brothers Malema, who is a lecturer in economics, health development and the environment at the University of Botswana, commended AHCC for holding the event and to minister God’s word as well as pray for the nation and its leaders.

He said leaders should bear in mind that God had given them the responsibility to lead the country to greater heights.

Prof. Malema said although it could be vested in one person, leadership was a collective effort where leaders payed attention to what society wanted and needed and not their own interests.

He urged all to pull together to revive the economy of the SPEDU region after the closure of the BCL  mine, which was the mainstay of the region.

He said the leadership of the country should focus on Selebi Phikwe as a special economic zone, and play a meaningful role in resuscitating the regions economy.

He also called on government to invest more on sustainable agriculture to promote food security.

Professor Malema advised the country’s leadership to shun corruption and to seek God’s guidance and wisdom to steer the country into the future.  ENDS
