Masisi comforts Moatlhaping family

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi was in Moshupa on Saturday for funeral of  52-year old Ms Lorato  Moatlhaping who died in a road accident at Polokwe last week.

Dr Masisi said Ms Moatlhaping exemplified the best in Batswana, full of life and believed in a cause larger than herself. President Masisi appreciated that the deceased was dedicated to bulding family, community and the nation.

Dr Masisi said Ms Moatlhaping joined the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP)  because it represented the peace and democracy she suscribed to.

Dr Masisi wished her legacy and thumbsprint could inspire not only her two boys and three girls to  work hard at whatever they choose to be and become the best they ever wished to be in life.

President Masisi had earlier during the week visited some survivors of the accident in Moshupa to give them support.

Her friend Ms Gladys Mosweu said they raised their families through small entrepreneurship. She said they used to travel to Durban and Johannesburg to buy items they would later resell back home to make profit and sustain their families. She likewise encouraged her children to draw lessons from their mother’s life of hard work and graft.

Another speaker and Moshupa West councillor, Mr Thompson Sethibe, encouraged the family, however painful, to put their trust upon the Lord. He said the Lord was the only giver of life and  would thus give them comfort that surpassed human understanding. He said her demise was a loss to her family, village and nation.

Member of Parliament for Moshupa/Manyana constituency, Mr Karabo Gare, said he was particularly struck by the fact that the deceased always created employment for herself.

Mr Gare also shared that Ms Moatlhaping played a pivotal role in growth of the BDP and the nation at large and wished her a peaceful rest from her labours. ENDS
