Celebrate responsibly - Masisi

Residents of Sekoma have been urged to act responsibly this festive season.

Speaking during the handing over of food hampers to Sekoma residents recently, President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi said even though the festive season was a time for enjoyment, it was important to drive safely and avoid drunk driving in order to prevent road accidents.

He encouraged people to drink in their homes as well as to condomise to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

Accompanied by First Lady Ms Neo Masisi, the president handed over more than 350 food hampers to the elderly and over 800 snack packages to children.

Kgosi Moscow Tefiso commended the first couple for visiting their village, saying they were grateful that they created time for the visit.

He also thanked the first family for the hampers.

He also said the police in the village were failing in their mandate because they did not have a vehicle.

“The police officers can not work efficiently because there is no vehicle. They have to follow criminals on foot,” he said. ENDS
