811 companies benefit from scheme

Some 811 youth companies have benefited under the Reservation on Micro-Procurement Local Procurement Scheme, which followed a presidential directive in 2013.
This was revealed by the assistant minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse on December 3 in Parliament.
Mr Autlwetse further stated that 116 youth owned companies had benefited under the 15 per cent reservation on maintenance by April this year, while 632 youth owned companies had benefited under the price preference Local Procurement Scheme.
He was responding to a parliamentary question from Specially Elected MP Mr Mephato Reatile, who asked how many youth companies had benefited under Government Policy Reforms, affirmative action in favour of the youth. ENDS
