Introspection teamwork togetherness to drive SAA in 2019- chairman

03 Dec 2018

Serowe Administrative Authority subordinate council chairperson, Mr Mpho Kooreme has appealed to both political and administrative officers to reflect on their 2018 performance and seek ways to improve going into 2019.

Speaking during chairman’s ball on November 29, Mr Kooreme said that going into 2019, service providers across all government departments and parastatals in his authority should introspect, consider teamwork and togetherness to achieve results.

The chairman challenged workers to aim towards leaving a positive mark in their service delivery across all sectors.

He said that every individual must feel challenged to create a customer-centric environment such that even without receiving the services they sought, customers would walk away a happy lot.

He encouraged service providers to engage in a continuous self-assessment to check their levels of delivery, advising that it should be in service providers’ priorities to leave a top grade in whatever service they rendered.

The SAA chief advised that where there were impediments towards service delivery, public officers must seek solutions going into a new year.

He argued that in spite of the fact that challenges were part of everyday life, public officers must not view them as deterrents towards service delivery.

In his motive to ignite everyone into a productive and fruitful 2019, Mr Kooreme quizzed rather rhetorically, “Is our input bearing intended and desired results?”

Calling for mindset change, the SAA chairperson suggested that instead of setting self-centred New Year’s resolutions, public officers should consider customer focused New Year’s resolutions pinned on great customer experience.

To deliver the expected results on the set times, Mr Kooreme called on all government departments and parastatals to work together and form teams where each player had a set of roles to deliver on.

“Let us all attack next year as a united force and see if we cannot develop SAA,” Mr Kooreme set his team to pace.

He warned that without a watertight strategy in SAA, there were high possibilities that businesses could relocate to neighboring Palapye Administrative Authority where according to him, the ground was fertile for business to blossom. Ends
