Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Nonofo Molefhi has told Parliament that the President has MSc majoring in Social Studies,  Education and Institutional Systems Design that was acquired from Florida State University 1989-1990.

Responding to a question, he said the President also had a Diploma in Secondary Education majoring in English and History acquired from the University of Botswana in 1984.
The President, he said, also enrolled for MA-Economics and Social Policy at Manchester University and he completed and passed all course work but did not re-submit Thesis for final evaluation.

Selebi Phikwe West MP Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to clarify the qualifications of the President and to list his academic qualifications, alma mater, years and duration of studies.

He also wanted the minister to explain whether the President was a direct University of Botswana Alumni or through its affiliate Molepolole College of Education and state whether he had an Undergraduate Degree. Mr Keorapetse further wanted the minister to clarify whether Florida State University and University of Manchester were his alma mater and the qualifications obtained as well as year of graduation.
