106 civilly imprisoned in Selebi-Phikwe

Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Thato Kwerepe says since 2016 to date, 106 people have been civilly imprisoned in Selebi-Phikwe for failure to honour court orders in favour of judgement creditors. Responding to a parliamentary question on behalf of Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Kwerepe said five of such judgement-debtors were still incarcerated.
Selebi Phikwe East MP, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state the number of people civilly imprisoned because of failure to pay legally due money in Selibe Phikwe since October 2016 to date and the number still incarcerated. ENDS
