Ms Kemmonye Maoto has received keys to her house built through the National Housing Appeal initiative. The 37-year-old Mogobane resident, who is a mother of three, received her house donation  during a handing over ceremony in Mogobane.

National Housing Appeal chairperson, Mr Kabelo Binns said the house was number 839 to be allocated nationally by the housing appeal.

He said it was built with help from Botswana Life, explaining that the appeal depended on the support of various companies, individuals and institutions.

Mr Binns stated that the initiative had touched lives in various parts of the country, and that they were still receiving requests from members of the community. He stated that any person could be of assistance to the housing appeal project, adding that it was a wrong perception that giving was only for the rich.

He said what the housing appeal was doing went along with the aspirations of Vision 2036, which called for an inclusive society that provided for all.He urged members of the community to care and support each another.

Area councillor, Mr Dilo Abram thanked the housing appeal for housing Ms Maoto.

He noted that the housing appeal had donated another   house in the same village to the Seepolle family.

Mr Dilo said no person wanted to live in poverty hence the community must learn to join hands and help those who were less privileged. For her part, Ms Maoto expressed gratitude towards the housing appeal initiative for having provided her with a shelter. Ends
