Ministry replaces date stamps

25 Nov 2018

Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs, Ms Dorcas Makgato says the ministry has started to replace large date stamps used at border posts with smaller ones.

The minister said to date, the ministry had procured 412 smaller stamps for all border posts and that the stamps had been in use since September.

Ms Makgato, however, noted that since the new stamps were not enough for the number of officers deployed at the borders, the ministry was still using both the old and the new stamps until such a time that new ones had been procured in adequate numbers.

She said it was expected that there would be adequate stamps by the end of the current financial year.

Nkange MP, Mr Edwin Batshu had asked when the ministry would consider replacing the current large date stamps used at border posts with smaller one to save space on passport pages. ENDS
