On song Matjimenyenga visit Majombolo

Football fanatics will on Saturday converge at Nico Ground in Selibe Pikwe to witness an encounter between giants of the two mining towns as Tafic visit Majombolo in the Debswana First Division North league.
Matjimenyenga, as affectionately known to its legion of fans, beat Real Movers in their last encounter hence lead the pack with 13 points after five games.
The free scoring Tafic form reminds football supporters of the class of 1991 which had the likes of Mmoloki ‘BB’ Sechele, Jomo ‘Nobody’ Mosweu, Itumeleng ‘Tumie’ Duiker and Wrist Mmusi who played the fashionable Undipe Ndipe Kupe style of play.
Speaking in an interview, Tafic coach Elias Chinyemba said they were targeted by their opponents since they were the log leaders and that it was a morale boost to them.
Chinyemba further revealed that they were working as a unit hence their intention to take the team back to the elite league. He said he would be delighted if football supporters in Francistown could rally behind the team the whole season.
He said going into the weekend game their preparation was going well as they had done training at the gym to work on fitness of his troop.
Furthermore, he highlighted that they would be welcoming back the hard tackling midfielder, Samuel Phiri, who has been on suspension since last season for unsporting behaviour against Township Rollers in a league game.
He pointed out that they were bringing a full team as they did not have any injuries nor cards, adding that they would go all out to dismantle Majombolo in their home ground.
However, Nico United, who are mid table with only two victories, would lie in wait for Matjimenyanga in a clash of former premier league boys.
Majombolo, as they are known to football supporters, are set to restore their pride as they have lost two games by a solitary goal against Morupule Wanderers and Sua Flamingoes.
The Selibe Phikwe side had a good start to the league, but would have to fasten their shoe laces and give the visitors a test as a loss will relegate them to the bottom four.
In other games, Palapye-based Morupule Wanderers will visit Green Lovers in Serowe while the epic clash of Palapye teams will be held in Makoro Ground as Motlakase Power Dynamos welcome Palapye All Stars.
At the Old Francistown Stadium, the youthful Eleven Angels host third placed Sua Flamingoes who are still in shock following the recent death of their enterprising goal poacher, Lovemore Murirwa due to a car accident.
Still on Saturday, Calender Stars take a short trip to face Great North Tigers at Tagala Ground. On Sunday, Francistown City Greens welcome Real Movers at Francistown stadium. All games kick-off at 4pm. ENDS
