Mmolotsi attends CPA

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Botswana branch representative, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi will attend the CPA - Africa Region Special Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from today(November 22) until Saturday(November 24).
A news release from Parliament states that the mission of CPA in accordance with the preamble of its constitution is to promote respect for Human Rights and Freedoms and the pursuit of the ideals of Democracy and Good Governance, building understanding and unity among countries of the region and the continent as well as promoting the interests and perspectives of Africa within the Commonwealth and beyond.
The releases says the powers and functions of the Executive Committee include, management of financial and administrative affairs of the region, formulation of policy proposals for consideration and adoption by the general meeting, organisation of annual regional conferences and general meeting and implementation of the decisions of the general meeting.
Other functions include supervision of the secretariat, organisation of conferences, meetings, seminars, exchange visits, programmes and study tours and management of projects that are in line with the aims and objectives of the region.
Members of the executive committee will consider and adopt the Constitutional Amendment Proposals and consider and adopt proposed budget re-allocation for the year ending December 2018.
Mr Mmolotsi is expected back home on Saturday. ENDS
