Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane conducted a ground breaking for Orapa Junior Secondary School kitchen on October 19.
The kitchen was funded at a tune of P1.1 million through constituency funding.
Simmons Investment had been contracted to kick-start the project on November 2.
The project, senior assistant council secretary Mr Onthatile Molelu said, was expected to be completed on July 26, 2019.
Boteti Sub-district Council, he said, was working in partnership with the Department of Technical Services, which two departments reached an agreement to have the project undertaken by Boteti as opposed to department of technical services based in Serowe.
He said they committed to deliver the project on time to avoid cost-over runs.
The school head Ms Kolobetso Seabe said the kitchen currently under use was an old structure of 1988.
Meanwhile the Vice President earlier on handed over a laptop sponsored by Home Corp to the best student in the mid-year examinations Wame Mmereki.
He also handed 10 boxes of printing paper to the school also donated by Home Corp.
Mr Tsogwane commended the school management for working hard to develop talent, saying by developing talent the school was encouraging learners to reach higher levels.
“We have to celebrate that we are having a leader in making, who will in future be a president,” he said.
He indicated that God cherished performance and perfection, urging them to strive for success.
Mr Tsogwane thanked Home Corp for ploughing back into the society.
Ms Seabe said the school management was committed to continuing lifting Orapa JSS flag high, saying they would remain in the top 10 country-wide. ENDS
