De Vre Trans donates to Kgafela Primary School

De Vre Trans, a Palapye based cross-border transportation company has donated special needs educational materials and toiletries worth P78 000 to the special unit class at Kgafela Primary School.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony on October 16, De Vre Trans public relations manager, Mr Fobby Radipotsane said they were happy to associate with children living with disabilities.

He said most learners with special needs do not have enough educational materials to assist them enhance their learning capabilities.

Mr Radipotsane said when they opened an office in Mmamashia they wanted to locate a school that they could help and their heart fell for Kgafela primary, which offers education for special learners with intellectual disability.

He said De Vre Trans was excited to be lending a helping hand to the disadvantaged children as it gave them an opportunity to learn and grow.

The public relations manager said they were aware that education materials were by nature expensive, hence the donation would go a long way in meeting the children’s needs.

Mr Radipotsane said they bought the learners toys of all sorts and bicycles, which they would use during the learning process.

He added that their intention was to continue helping the school on a yearly basis to help meet the needs of the children.

Kgafela Primary School head Ms Margaret Seele said they were happy to have received a donation from De Vre Trans, which would go a long way in providing the much needed educational materials.

She said her school had been running short of special learners’ materials and the company had come to their rescue more so that these materials were expensive and the school could not afford to buy them.

Ms Seele said they donated to 17 learners each with a bag full of toiletries together with toys.

The school head further said the learners learnt through manipulation and the toys would  help them learn quickly.

 He said the donation would accord them effective learning skills as they have to play for them to learn. ENDS
