First Lady hands over house to Four kings

04 Oct 2018

First Lady Ms Neo Masisi has handed over a two-bedroomed house to Ms Pego Race of Tonota who recently gave birth to quadruplets.

Ms Masisi also donated sorghum bags and milk to the mother of 10.

The house was built by residents of Tonota following an appeal for assitance by the  area MP, Mr Thapelo Olopeng.

The quadruplets named Tshimologo, Tshenolo, Tshiamo, and Tsholofelo were all born fit at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital on August 12.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony yesterday, Ms Masisi committed herself to visiting the children as and when time allows to check on their health and growth.

She explained that she would also work hand in hand with women of Tonota to make sure that the four kings, as the children are nicknamed, are given the love and care they deserve.

Ms Masisi said the 34-year-old mother  had made history for her village because this was a special occasion and great joy for residents of Tonota, parents and relatives.

She appealed to residents of Tonota, particularly women to forster the children by frequently visiting them, saying Ms Race could not manage to raise the children without their support.

Ms Masisi also appealed to the mother to raise the children under the guidance of God and further encouraged the family to keep up the hope and remain steadfast in prayer so that the children grow up well.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Ms Race’s elder sister, Ms Tshepo Race applauded  Mr Olopeng for coming up with the idea to build a house for her younger sister.

She described Mr Olopeng as a father-figure and requested him to be a God Father in the family, saying without Mr Olopeng’s wisdom, the children might face a bleak future.

For his part, Mr Olopeng thanked everyone who had assisted with donations and appealed to the residents and Batswana  at large to continue with their generosity, saying what had already been donated was not enough to raise the children.

On the other hand, he said the project of building a house for Ms Race had also united the people of Tonota and appealed for the same spirit to prevail should a similar challenge occur in future.

Mr Olopeng promised to remain the God Father of the family to make sure that the children receive the best education.

He said  #4Kings Foundation with a bank account  to cater for the children’s educational needs would soon be established through the Thapelo Olopeng Foundation.

The four kings together with their mother were ushered into their new house by Ms Masisi and the village leadership to mark the beginning of their new life in a new home.

They had been accommodated by a neighbour since their dischage from the hospital last month while their house was being completed and furnished. Ends
