BCET donates to Thamaga Primary Hospital

03 Oct 2018

Botswana College of Engineering and Technology (BCET) recently donated toiletries, chairs, and books worth over P7 500 to Thamaga Primary Hospital.

BCET principal, Ms Mildred Boduwe, said their gesture symbolised love for patients.

“Patients need love more than anything else as it makes the impossible possible,” she said.

Moreover, she said if someone went out of their way to help, it was a symbol that God was among them.

She also said the act shown by BCET staff had touched one aspect of need and there was still much that other stakeholders could still do to assist.

Ms Boduwe said the donations would help patients gain relief and hope for better health.

She also commended the BCET staff for the commitment they showed throughout the project.

Earlier on, when welcoming guests, the chief medical officer at the hospital, Dr Jacques Tshimbalanga expressed gratitude for having been chosen out of 600 health facilities countrywide.

He said the hospital might look small but had a lot of patients who needed care. He said they could not think of a better way of putting love in action other than donating to patients.

Dr Tshimbalanga said the hospital had 35 beds and some needed toiletry as their primary caretakers hardly checked on them.

Thamaga West councillor, Mr Tona Selala, thanked BCET management to have singled their village and showing love to those who were in pain.

The donation was done under the BCET Corporate Social Responsibility in partnership with the BCET SRC, Bababiditsweng ka Lentswe choir and the staff. Ends
