Majwe mining supports education

Mining Manager of Majwe Mining Joint Venture, Mr Caster Mothibedi says their corporate social responsibility policy aims at creating partnerships and collaboration with reputable organisations for the improvement of local socio-economic development programmes.
Mr Mothibedi, who was a guest speaker at Ngwaketse JSS 50th anniversary and prize giving ceremony in Kanye recently, said their policy aims at uplifting the lives of the less privileged members of the community and sponsoring projects that enable and add value to the lives of all communities, education and training inclusive.
“We feel a strong responsibility to contribute positively to our host community,” he said, adding that it was worth noting that to date, Majwe has invested heavily in the education sector than any sector, through its corporate social responsibility policy.
He stated that Majwe believes that any economy is driven first by human resources, hence the substantial investment in training and creating personal growth opportunities.
Mr Mothibedi indicated that each student needs to be asking themselves about a way forward, as all have the potential and the opportunity to be the recipient of future awards. He encouraged them to use education to cope with a self-innovative, creative and imaginative global competitive market.
“I would like to urge each and every student to become aware of the choices they have at any given time, as choice is a powerful tool that when used with consciousness, opens up possibilities that were never going to happen,” he noted.
He said it allowed them to go beyond instinct, need or desire and makes determination, striving and excelling available to each person who consciously makes clever choices.
“The clever student is the one who consciously makes clever choices. To achieve any real result, choices must be followed by actions aligned with that choice,” he said.
Mr Mothibedi mentioned that goal-setting was a powerful tool that facilitates the achievement of dreams, adding that it helps them to focus, organise time and use their resources optimally.
If we have excellence as our life goal, then every area of our lives would be an opportunity for excellence to show up, he said. ENDS
